Partnerships in Worship & Music

June 21st, 2013 by Beth A. Lewis

As I noted in my Wednesday blog post, we are blessed by the gift of creative partners who assist us in the creation of high quality faith formation, worship, music and educational resources.  We are not only blessed by these individuals who collaborate with us, but also by partnering institutions!

Late yesterday, I learned of a new one!  On October 4-5, Augsburg Fortress will partner on hosting a conference on worship, music, and homiletics. Our partners at St. Olaf Catholic Church in downtown Minneapolis will host this ecumenical event.  In addition,  we and St. Olaf Catholic Church will be joined in partnership by MorningStar Music Publishers and the  Twin Cities Chapter of National Association of Pastoral Ministers.

At this two-day event, the Conference on Worship, participants will learn from such worship, music and homiletic luminaries as Dale Warland, Marty Haugen, Gordon Lathrop, Carol Carver, and many others!

We are very excited to be engaged in this ecumenical educational event for clergy, worship and music leaders and lay people from across all denominations.

A related partnership in which we are engaged for worship and music leaders in congregations is with our new web-based subscription resource, Prelude Music Planner.

Not only is it an easy-to-use and inexpensive resource for identifying church music selections based on a wide range of criteria, but our partnerships with GIA, Hope, MorningStar and Chorister’s Guild means that subscribers have instant access to music not only from Augsburg Fortress, but from all five (and soon to be more) publishers!  If you haven’t explored it yet, I would urge you to give it a try with our free 14-day trial and then sign up for one of our free Prelude Music Planner webinars to jumpstart your experience!

Collaboration.  Partnership.  Sometimes these words seem overused!  But, when they are as productive as those we are enjoying in preparation for the October Conference on Worship and in launching our new resource for church musicians, Prelude Music Planner, they don’t seem overused at all!  Instead, they are energizing!

Blessings,

Beth
