Christian books on Kindle

July 25th, 2008 by Beth A. Lewis

I subscribe to a trade journal called Book Business Magazine. They included an article in today’s issue that was titled,
Christian Publishers Make Majority of Catalogs Available on Kindle Inc. announced that 11 Christian publishers will make a majority of their catalogs of books available for use on the Kindle, Amazon’s e-reader…..

“Of the 135,000 books available on as a physical book and on the Kindle, Kindle books already account for over 12 percent of units sold,” says Ian Freed, vice president of Amazon Kindle. “We’re pleased that so many publishers are seeing this success with their Kindle titles, and that more publishers like the Christian book publishers are getting on board.”

I have now had my Kindle for a couple of months. I love it! My husband and I just returned from 10 days of vacation in the Pacific Northwest. It was great to be able to take dozens of books, in a variety of genres, with me without weighing down my luggage!

And, I’m especially proud that Augsburg Fortress is one of the pioneers in providing our front and back lists via Kindle with our launch in November 2007. We have well over 1200 titles available via Kindle; close to 1% of their total. Not their total Christian or religious books, but total!

Happy reading!
