Grief Resources in support of the Virginia Tech community

April 24th, 2007 by Beth A. Lewis

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Presbyterian Church (USA) are full communion partners. This is demonstrated in many ways through the respective ministries of publishing as we publish and distribute resources collaboratively. Splash!, The Lutheran Handbook now adapted to be The Presbyterian Handbook, Great Bible Reef VBS 2007, and Akaloo are just a few examples of this.

In this spirit, recently we noted that PC(USA) has developed a free set of resources to support congregations and individuals who are in mourning over the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech. We have, with their permission, put a link on the bottom left of our home page in the ecumenical resources box to these free resources. Please feel free to share this information widely.

In addition, if you are looking for resources related to grief, we publish many. Our newest resource in this area is Barbara Glanz’s book, WHAT CAN I DO: IDEAS TO HELP THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS. And, our perennial bestseller is Granger Westberg’s book GOOD GRIEF

The many, many people who have been affected both directly and indirectly by the senseless events at Virginia Tech are in our prayers.
